I have woken up to quite the surprise. Simply because my mother knows my social security number, she was able to not only get added to my bank account but also had a debt card mailed to her. Last night she went on a spending spree, emptied out my account and left it in the red. While I've dealt with the bank on the phone... it doesn't look like any of the funds will be returned to me. After all, she used her card and it wasn't fraudulent since it was in her name. Bills are due next week so this was a direct strike.

I have also cut off all communications with her since we moved. I had not gotten the chance to update my bank address but I am glad I didn't. While she was able to drain my funds, she wasn't able to get where I currently live. The last thing I would need is her showing up as high as a kite again demanding to see my daughter.

Needless to say, my head isn't in any normal place today so it's not going to be very productive.

I had an accident with a window. I've mentioned it in a few notes the past few days. It's a bit embarrassing and it sliced up my arm pretty good. Without health insurance, it looks like it's going to leave a nasty scar. We were able to pull the cut together with over-the-counter butterfly bandages and it finally stopped bleeding. To save money, I've been tapering off my seizure medication. It's $250 a bottle and a bottle only lasts a month. I was doing fine on just one pill-a-day so I decided to attempt going a few days without any medication.  So the very thing I was trying to battle ended up almost costing me more than it's worth. The cut is behind my right elbow and goes down into the arm's white meat. It hasn't been too much a bother as much as my lower back. I crashed and bled along the wall after the collision. Mostly because I was still having an episode. I'm rather upset at myself about the whole situation.

Halloween is coming. Some of you have noticed I've been slanting the Weekly Discounts so that they were in line with the holiday. We will be spending the first night ever away from our daughter. We will be going to Austin (which is a few hours away) to meet with the hotel regarding our wedding reception. I'm not sure what our plans will be after that. Well, what's new with all of you? Got any holiday plans? Destroy an upstairs bedroom window recently?

:star::star:  October 15th, 2012 – October 22nd, 2012. TWISTED DISNEY The Unhappy Ever After
There's whispers of a strangler in the  Kingdom Of Corona who uses her own hair to silence her victims. Having became a Cold One, the woman once known as Matoaka now haunts the Americas as a blood thirsty Pocahontas. A cruel curse was brought to the Kingdom of Atlantica and their once happy Merfolk now are slaves to the wicked redheaded zombie queen. This week we focus in on the darker tales of the Disney catalog. Same worlds. Starkly different stories. What's yours? Nudity is permitted for this discount.

:bulletblack:  Commentary: When I began doing commissions here on :dalogo: , I employed the technique of the weekly discount. It's with it that I learned what worked for me. When I ran one for additional characters, I got the biggest response ever and that's how my personal decree happened. 3 characters an artwork. No charge for them. This really spoke to me because I purchase commissions as well. I pay for those additional characters. I know how it feels to be like 's ay what' when you're told a piece is going be doubled in price for one character. You pay for what you want so I don't ever bring up my own beliefs when buying. You gotta respect the artist. I charge flat rate of $5 for any additional character past three. It's because of the Weekly Discount that I ensure every piece can be maximized and not minimized.

I was sitting in this chair.

In the living room.

When three began to climb up my leg and they bit my toes. More Rasberry ants. I open my door and there's a cloud of red dead bodies. On top of them, hundred. All on my door guard.

I sweep all of them to the grass. You see, that's the thing. They drag their dead first. Underneath are the hundred or so that's alive. The ones that dragged them to my doorstep.

I get my vacuum because while I do this, a dozen come inside. Scattering around. Weird little bugs that bite. That eat fire ants.

I spend thirty minutes vacuuming my outside patio. More and more, they come from the grass. Thousands. I vacuum and I vacuum.

I've lost it.
When I opened up commissions here, I did a weekly discount. That really kept things challenging. Those weekly discounts carried with them topics. Some of them were for capes. Some of them were for kisses. Some of them were for including characters. When I got rid of them and went for a season special, I found that I still wanted that extra. So I included the side-deals for an additional five bucks off. That brought the cost of the piece even lower than when I did the weekly discounts. I was surprised that didn't get the desire that the weekly discounts did. That said, I will be bringing back the Weekly Discount next week. Every week, I will post up a new Discount on a theme or topic. So for this week only, this is the last broad and general:  Fan Art 10 bucks off instantly discount.

For the first time in four years, we will be getting a babysitter.

That's right. Our first night out without the little one. That day? October 27th.

Halloween was special between me and the miss. We went to Minneapolis our first year then Manhattan the second. That was something. She was pregnant and in a wheelchair (broke her ankle at a Mindless Self Indulgence -- or was it Mickey Avalon? -- concert) right before we left for Manhattan. The whole time? Puking up a storm. Splatter on the carpet. Seriously accused me of poisoning her.  Real Samuel L. Jackson situation in a Jamaica Queens hotel that was! I was dressed as the tooth fairy and had to ride the subway from Chinatown to Queens with eyeliner, fake giant '70s chest hair, rainbow suspenders and a tutu [link].

Back to this Halloween! Well, we don't have any room in the budget. 'about to move to Houston out of necessarily needs. So for just a few bucks, I was able to craft a pretty good Doctor Who costume.

All less than 20 bucks collectively:
[link] Red Fez.

[link] 4th Doctor's socks, which'll be seen because the pants are too short.

[link] Got 'em for less than 5 dollars.  Figured they'd go good with the shirt...

[link] Because you can't be the mad man without his box.

[link] Old tan blazer. From the back of the closet. Free. Ah, that photo was also taken with the lensbaby edge optic 80. The miss rented it from [link] for the weekend. After we look at a few other apartment buildings (possibly putting in the application at one) then we're shooting all the way north to Austin to see the chapel for the first time. 'place we're the wedding is going down. Verily excited.

[link] Iron on elbow patches for the blazer. Sadly, I couldn't find a sonic screwdriver for the budget. Anyone have one laying about? Love to do a free commission for it.
:iconmib-agents:
The comic series that the motion picture was based really was quite open. The Men in Black covered anything from mutants to demons. If it was a weird happening, chances are, it was going to be the Men in Black that was called in to handle it. That range was reduced from any paranormal activity to only extraterrestrial life with the brilliant Ed Solomon script. The Men in Black headquarters was quickly taken over by Rick Baker in the same manner he did with the cantina scene of the original Star Wars. If humans are New Yorkers then aliens are certainly monsters by these movie standards. That's not to say they aren't adorable (look at the Annelids for example). They're real. They're alive. That's who we turn to for our first contest.

Create-an-Alien
The very best aliens are all organic. Your nostalgia knows this is true. Let's save the heavily armored or robot aliens to videogames like Alien Crisis or the cartoon series. In fact, consider the example incorrect. The ship in the background looks entirely too human. The body is clearly a humanoid robot. Bad. Bad. Bad.

Consider the conceptual work of:

:iconfilbarlow:

:icontnperkins:

Their characters have that inherit alien quality.

Specs:

You will find a blank template inside. You are to design an alien from the waist up or two thirds of their form. Try not to copy the human form. Look to nature.

Download: [link]

Use a san serif for the name of your alien on the graphic.

Entitle every entry 'create an alien' followed by the alien name.

An 18 minute documentary on the conceptual work for Luc Besson's The Fifth Element, focusing on Moebius and Jean-Claude Mézières. It's got some great footage and interviews(and some impressively cheesy narration), but I think the real motivation behind making this was to prove that all old French cartoonists are genetically predisposed to being adorable.

I've already called off one wedding. I'm nearing calling off another. For those who are new (hey, by the way!) to the story, I was sued by a student loan last year but was able to resolve it to the cost of several thousand dollars. Well, that entire wedding had to be canceled because I had to spend that savings on the lawsuit. Unlike last time, which was more a surprise sucker punch, this time I feel like I'm buried in a mountain of rocks. Each day, another rock is thrown on. Today alone, my fiancée was dropped by her father's car insurance, phone plan and our air conditioner just went out. No one is remotely interested in this wedding other than to dislike our choices and instead recommend thousands of dollars on other options. Mind, not pay but suggest doing those instead. At this point, anything we came up with for this wedding seems not good enough for those attending. The 30 some people we were going to invite. Every night this week, I've had to run off a drug deal outside our window. My daughter has been a complete handful lately. Real in-your-face three year old. As I type this, she is in hour four of protesting going to bed. It's 85 in our apartment right now with it going. Right underneath my breast, I have this hallow anxiety  or rage. It's very similar to the panic attacks I used to have. I know it's not real. I know it's my head playing with me. I can't calm down. I want to but something inside me just growls at any notion. Think of something peaceful. Think of something nice. Be creative. GROWL GRRR RAWR GRRR PUNCH SOMETHING GRRR.
