Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr
Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel.  Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind).  So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me?  Pantser?  I think?  But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid.  And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly.  And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.
A lot of people have asked me how it's going, when it will be published and stuff. I really appreciate getting asked these things because it shows that people are actually interested in my writings, and that it just such a great feeling :aww:
I've got two news for you guys today though: one bad news and one good news. Let's start with the bad news.

Music Is My Inspiration ContestWell guys I've decided to start my own contest, because I had awesome feedback on the idea ^_^
It'll be my first contest that I've held...EVER! So it's very exciting :3
So, about the theme of the contest. Well whenever I've felt down and blue because I've been slapped upside the head with an art block, I like to wallow in self pity and blast my favourite tunes XD (LOL) It's extremely therapeutic :P and it really does help to inspire me with new ideas :D.

Car Insurance;

Hi guys.

I was curious what car insurance you guys use.

I have no friends.

I have no family.

So I really have no idea how to barter with these people and such.

I just know my rates jumped and I was curious if you'd like to disclose yours with me.

I would very much appreciate it.

I can't believe people pay 750-800 every six months. I could be wrong.

Am I wrong?

I have State Farm, but I have only the minimal coverage, which is about $32 a month.

I'm very sorry to hear you're so alone in this world:(

It's okay. I had a very specific year in 2007.

I lost 7 members of my family that year including my father, grandmother, uncle and grandfather. Traditionally, those are the people you'd turn to to ask these sort of questions.

I am going to check State Farm out tomorrow.

My God, I even more sorry to hear about this:(

However, there's something I should tell you...I pay a pretty low rate because I only use my car for going out at night. I take the bus to work. I don't know what kind of deal you can get.

Chin up, little one. I'm quite all right now.

I had issues in 2008 but I'm fine now.

As for insurance, they have asked if I use it for work.

So I should say that I use it only for night transaction. That makes a lot of sense!

My baby mama drives. I sit in the back with our toddler. I only use it to drive to work whenever I do work. I'm a sub and Captionist for Deaf Education so I don't work regularly.

She does but she has her own insurance.

Progressive, liability only on two vehicles...comes out to about $60 per month.

I'm very curious why I am being robbed when I call.

I called Progressive and they quoted me 117 a'month on one car.

A lot depends on location as well as age... Get on the coastal states and the rate skyrockets. Age too, which to me is stupid.

Question though...full coverage or just liability? If we wanted full covorage on our two vehicals...I think the qoute was around the $150 a month range.... though also depends on the year of the vehical.

Just liability is being at 117 a month.

I will probably bite the bullet and cough up the 800 or so hundred for full coverage.

It all depend on if a contract I have goes through or not. Right now, it's not possible.
