I am troubled with all the commercial Christmas everywhere.

It's bad enough every store saturates you with it now.

I was just sitting in a lab full of it. Garland around the MRI.

Did the world change so quick that I didn't notice?

We shove Thanksgiving aside as soon as possible so we can celebrate "we get stuff" day?

This isn't a spiritual influx after Halloween. This isn't because people are ready to honor their Lord.

It's Boogimmes in the first degree.

Christmas lights and ornaments next to the Halloween decorations--in August. Christmas Carols started playing on Nov. 1st.

I once saw a one-panel comic where Santa Claus was holding hands with the Witch of Halloween, and Santa Claus said, "It's it nice how the department stores brought us together?" *sigh*

Since the calendar corruption with the additional months several centuries ago, the original birth of Jesus may have shifted from as early as September to December. This eliminated Winter Solstice and replaced it with the celebration of the Christ's birth. The idea of Witches (Samhain) and Father Frost (Winter Solestice)together again in the very symbol (stores) of modern man's constant desire for need is hilarious. Remove the religion, replace it with consumerism. That's America.

Which is ridiculous. The local radio stations aren't starting until after Thanksgiving this year, but in previous years they've started mixing in Christmas music as early as Halloween night.

Yanno, I didn't mind the Christmas music last year because I was a Rent-a-Santa. It felt okay for it to be playing since people were already having Christmas parties at companies and house parties featuring Santa Claus. I have some fond memories of having it play while my toddler was just learning to walk.

However, you're right. It was after Thanksgiving. I know that the television has been clustered with Christmas programming on certain channels, too.

Meh. I'm only a fan of certain Christmas songs and when they same songs get played over and over for two months, that's when I start pulling my hair out.

Oh, I don't blame you.

Indeed. Holidays as a whole have become more commercialized. Heck Thanksgiving is mostly seen as in relation to Black Friday nowadays.

I just do my best to focus on the snow (if any) during Christmas time.

I asked a woman in line to the bank today (I had to pull from the savings for the MRI) about what she planned to do for Thanksgiving. Yanno, chance to hear about what she was going to cook. I miss that. My mother before she turned to drugs would spend weeks getting the right idea and select recipes for Thanksgiving. It was always a big turn out at my late grandmother's.

All the lady in line wanted to talk about was how doorbusters and hourly deals were going to be at stores on Black Friday. THAT was her plan.
