I know I have been quite inactive the past month, alot of private stuff going on and upcoming exams, but I will try to be more active again from now on. Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr

SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.

Where's my head at?

You may have noticed all you see from me is stars lately. Rock stars. I'm doing a wonderful 11x17 piece of musicians through time. I do hope you're enjoying it. It's been a lot of great fun. After that, I'm doing a sequel to this piece:

I am also assisting on the layout designs for issue two of Divergent Magazine. My role isn't as prominent as the gray slab as the first issue but there's bits of me in the design of our next issue. Also the cover will feature one of my artworks.

Unemployment is always something that I'm not too fond of when the last school bell rings. School is out here and as an active substitute that means there won't be a paycheck in the near future. I did do several interviews to once again be a Captionist next year but all that relies on the school board. Whether or not they approve the position again.

My daughter is actually getting two birthday parties this year. It's the only way to manage both sides of our families. One I just recently began speaking to again (lot of back story regarding my mother in these journals). We'll be having the Eloise (which I was open to do Art Trades for and no one seemed interested) party and then we'll be having a Snow White party at my mother's. It'll be the first time the majority of her family has ever seen the child. I'm a bit concerned about it but that's natural. They're not good folk. I'll leave it at that.
We've done it again. We've cracked yet another laptop's left side. It's now being held together with duct tape. That'll make the fourth laptop over the past six years that we've somehow made break.

True Blood is coming up. Anyone looking forward to it? Looking forward to anything? My Deviant Art has been so quiet lately.
